Manchester United have kept their eyes on the transfer market for quite some time, making only one signing of Donny van de Beek from Ajax, leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side with lots of positions to fill. As seen last season, Manchester United lacked depth in their squad which resulted in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielding the same 11 for many consecutive matches.

Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United?

Reguilon spent the last season on loan at Sevilla and helped them lift the coveted Eupora League trophy for the sixth time and put in an eye-catching performance. However, the defender has moved back to Real Madrid with a loan option being denied for Sevilla.

United are now seen to be in the running for the Spaniard with Ole wanting to reinforce his defence. However, the deal is still not through yet. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano explained how Manchester United are refusing to pay the €30 million price tag, “Manchester United are considering a move by days but won’t pay €30m price tag. Real Madrid also asking for a ‘buy-back clause.”

However, he also confirmed that Red Devils are not interested in the buy-back clause and are expecting a permanent transfer, “#MUFC won’t accept the ‘buy back clause’ asked by Real Madrid but are seriously working on Reguilon as LB option.”

Manchester seems to be preferred place for Sergio Reguilon, however, it could turn out to be a difficult deal to happen with Real Madrid thinking of keeping him as Marcelo’s replacement.
