Premier League: Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings as United ride on Ronaldo’s hat-trick to win 3-2 against Spurs
Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur: United hosted Spurs on Matchday 29 of the Premier League at the Old Trafford.
First half was filled with action as Cristiano Ronaldo was in the limelight again. He scored a scorcher from outside the box, before Harry Kane converted a penalty awarded for Alex Telles’ handball. But Ronaldo scored again just on the verge of half time to restore United’s lead.
Harry Maguire scored an own goal to bring Spurs back into the game. But it was Ronaldo’s night altogether as he scored from a corner and headed his 3rd goal on the night to pull his team through 3-2.

Manchester United
David de Gea (6.5/10): de Gea saved 2 out of the 3 shots that he faced on target. He was composed in the final minutes and retained the lead.
Diogo Dalot (7.5/10): Dalot was more involved in defence, as opposed to his attacking prowess. His clearances and 1v1 defending were apt.
Raphael Varane (7.3/10): Varane had a reasonable match. He passed the ball well and got into positions quickly
Harry Maguire (5.7/10): Maguire was average on the day and even scored their own goal in the second half to give the equalizer to Spurs.
Alex Telles (7.8/10): Ronaldo’s headed third goal was through Telles’ perfect cross from the corner. His defensive work rate was excellent.
Nemanja Matic (7.7/10): Matic had a good game before being replaced by Edinson Cavani.
Fred (8.6/10): Fred got booked as he showed dissent to the ref’s decision to give the penalty. But he was amazing in the midfield and provided a beautiful assist with a flick.
Marcus Rashford (6.3/10): Rashford could not feature in the game in his fullest. His wing play was nullified by Spurs defenders.
Paul Pogba (5.9/10): Pogba played in the injured Fernandes’ position. He was clumsy in his challenges and looked lazy on the passes.
Jadon Sancho (8.5/10): Sancho’s wing play was exceptional. He also provided an assist to Ronaldo’s second goal.
Cristiano Ronaldo (9.8/10): With a thunderbolt from outside the box, a simple tap in, and a brilliant header, Ronaldo affected the result of the match single-handedly. A Ronaldo masterclass performance for Manchester.

Anthony Elanga (6.2/10): Elanga came in for Rashford and kept the flanks active through his movement.

Hugo Lloris (6.4/10): Apart from a fine save off Ronaldo’s shot, he didn’t have answers to the Portuguese forward.
Cristian Romero (6.1/10): Romero’s positioning was not great and gave Ronaldo too much space to operate.
Eric Dier (7/1.0): Dier got booked late in the second half but had a good game defensively.
Ben Davies (6/10): Davies had a decent match at the back before being subbed off in the second half.
Matt Doherty (6.4/10): Doherty had a relatively dull game as he could not provide anything substantial from the right flank.
Emile-Pierre Hojbjerg (8/10): Hojbjerg had a fine game in the middle of the park as he distributed the ball well and won numerous challenges.
Rodrigo Bentancur (7.6/10): Bentancur was crucial in Spurs’ midfield as he rotated the ball well and distributed immaculately.
Sergio Reguilon (7.5/10): Reguilon had a very good game on the left wing back position. He defended well, made last-minute tackles and provided the cross that resulted in a United own goal.
Dejan Kulusevski (6.6/10): The Swede had a decent outing as he created a few chances and dribbled well to beat the defenders.
Heung-Min Son (6.7/10): Son wasted the best chance of the match for the Spurs in the second half. He was not up to his usual mark.
Harry Kane (7.2/10): Apart from the penalty, Kane could not impact the game in clutch moments like he so usually does.

Lucas Moura (6.5/10): Moura came on with energy and was active on the pitch, but could not produce the decider.
