Swiss former player Marc Rosset believes that Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will dominate the ATP tour in the coming years as both players do not have a strong rival to wrestle titles from them.
Alcaraz is a two-time Wimbledon champion, and he won both titles by beating Novak Djokovic in the final. He also won Roland Garros this year, defeating Alexander Zverev in five sets. The year’s first Major, the Australian Open, was won by Sinner.
Rosset also spoke about the need for other players to get better if they want to challenge Alcaraz and Sinner.
Behind Sinner, I find that there is an abysmal void, with players who are too stereotyped. Alcaraz is today the only one who really does lots of different things, and I tell myself that he and Sinner could have a boulevard ahead of them. If the others do not ask themselves very quickly the right questions about what to add to their game, we should not then come and say: 'We were unlucky, we fell at the same time as them.Marc Rossett said via L’Equipe
Sinner and Alcaraz have faced each other nine times already, with the latter leading 5-4 in the head-to-head.
What do the numbers say about Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s dominance?
Marc Rossett has aptly pointed to the void after Jannik Sinner when it comes to pushing Carlos Alcaraz to his limits. While the Italian has managed to defeat Alcaraz four out of nine times they have played against each other, an established player like Daniil Medvedev has managed to do it only twice in seven attempts.
Medvedev has not done well against Sinner either, losing to him five times in a row before finally beating him at Wimbledon recently.

Alexander Zverev has so far managed to go toe-to-toe with Alcaraz, keeping the head-to-head record at 5-5. The German has a stellar record against Sinner too, leading the Italian 4-1.
Alcaraz has played four Grand Slam finals and has won all of them, making him only the second player after Roger Federer to do so. He has a win/loss index of 0.85 (59-10) in Grand Slams while Sinner stands at 0.75. In comparison, Medvedev and Zverev have a win/loss index of 0.75 and 0.74 respectively.
With the gap between these two and the rest of the tour widening, it remains to be seen if anyone from the new generation can challenge them or if they will end up having a duopoly on the men’s circuit.
