Federer’s final match came in London at the O2 arena, where he also won two of his six World Tour Finals. He played with his friend Rafael Nadal for Team Europe against Team World. Lots of big tennis stars like Bjorn Borg, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray were there to celebrate Federer’s amazing career.

Since retiring, Federer hasn’t stayed away from the tennis scene. Last year, he showed up at Wimbledon, where he received a big round of applause during the Centre Court ceremony. A bit later, he was back with Team Europe as a fan at the Laver Cup. During the 2023 edition’s Day 1, he even answered some questions from fans.

There’s a lot of talk that Federer might still have a part to play in tennis. John McEnroe and Borg, who are captains of Team World and Team Europe in the Laver Cup, are said to be stepping down. It’s rumored that Federer might take over for Borg, while Andy Roddick, who used to be Federer’s big rival, could replace McEnroe.
