Maria Sharapova was a champion tennis player, and she is a winner for life. Sharapova was born and raised in Russia. till the age of seven. At seven she was sent to the IMG Academy to train under Nick Bollettieri. Her father and Sharapova herself had to struggle for two years, and at the age of nine she finally found a sponsor and they agreed to finance her tennis tuition there.
Once that was done, there was no looking back for Sharapova, who won Wimbledon at only 17 years of age in 2004. She retired in 2020, with five Grand slam trophies.

There are interests or ventures that athletes are interested in, but cannot really pursue during their career. But once they are retired they have the time and energy to do it. Like, post her retirement, Sharapova has taken the time out and found the company she wants to invest in. She has invested in the Tech wellness brand Therabody, and she will help Therabody create new products and deepen their global reach.
Maria Sharapova says, “As an athlete, I’ve had a close eye on emerging businesses in the health and wellness space, so it wasn’t so much a singular moment as waiting for the right company. What excites me most about joining the Therabody team is the opportunity, not just from an investment standpoint, but to really roll up my sleeves and help inform the company’s growth strategy and the path forward.”
Maria Sharapova rang in her 34th birthday in style, as she celebrated it in Napa County, California. Sharapova posted on Instagram, “Birthday weekend begins now, because …. well, why not??“
