Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens’ TE is spirited amid a decreased number of catches from quarterback Lamar Jackson. The three-time Pro Bowler from Scottsdale believes that all good things come with time – his time is yet to come.

The Ravens drafted Andrews behind Hayden Hurst in 2018 as 86th overall. He made his NFL debut in the same season against the Buffalo Bills and played 90 career regular season games. He has moved from the quarterback’s first choice slightly – as Andrews held without a catch for the first time in 72 games on the 28-25 riot over the Dallas Cowboys defense.

The heavily cored depth that the Ravens have built is one of the key reasons for the waning in preference. The two-time Super Bowl champions have brought in Derrick Henry who was left off by the Cowboys due to monetary reasons. Henry, who’s termed as King Henry by fans played the biggest role in their victory over the Cowboys. Isaiah Likely played most of the offensive snaps, thereby creating intense competition for playtime.

Andrews said that he has been playing exceptionally well, syncing with the new differences in the team. He pointed out that once the film is observed, it will show how he’s stretching the field, how he’s moving and playing, just that he isn’t receiving much ball time.

My time will come…I feel great. I think you saw in the film, you see the way I’m moving. I think I’m doing a lot of things better than I ever have, and, yeah, you know, it’s different. We’ve got a different team, but I still feel incredibly good and fast and strong. And I’m the same player I’ve always been. It’s just balls haven’t come my way.

Mark Andrews hasn’t been slagging off either. Ravens HC John Harbaugh has noted that the Cowboys blocking game got outstandingly good amid the win against the Cowboys. Andrews helped pave the way for Jackson’s touchdown run during the game.

In his career, Andrews had only three games where he had no receptions. Since 2019, Andrews has totaled 353 catches and 37 touchdowns – second to only Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2024, Andrews has caught six passes for 65 yards and leads the TE in separation percentage as per Pro Football Focus.

Mark Andrews isn’t all bothered about outside noise

Mark Andrews, who’s been an afterthought in the fantasy with his limited time, is not worried about the outside noise. He said that the noises aren’t aware of the things they don’t see and don’t know – referring to the work he’s been putting in.

I mean, all that [fantasy talk] is good and stuff, but they don’t know what’s going on inside this building and how we’re working and what I’m doing. They’re not watching me every play. They’re not seeing the type of work that I’m putting in. And so, all good things come with time.

Fantasy managers are worried about what to do in Week 4 regarding the Scottsdale native. The fact remains that Andrews has been getting fewer receptions and targets. However, benching Andrews comes with a certain level of risk. It could only be a matter of time before he showcases a standout performance reminiscent of his old form. That breakout game could very well happen this week.

The Ravens will play in-form Buffalo Bills who are 3-0 to the season. The match will be an epic showdown between last year’s MVP Lamar Jackson and an inspired Josh Allen. The Week 5 will feature division rivals Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow.
