After a tumultuous and unsatisfying offseason, eventually missing the whole practice camp, Ja’Marr Chase has finally found a rhythm. Despite not having the best results in three games with the Cincinnati Bengals, the wideout seemed to be enjoying playing ball with his teammates.

The player and the Bengals management failed to materialize a contract throughout the summer. There had been numerous talks but nothing fruitful came out of it—leading to suspicions that Chase might continue his hold-in into the season.

The player had even mentioned that the Bengals misled him with contract talks. However, Ja’Marr Chase was present in Week 1 for his team.

In the first two games against the Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, Chase admitted they didn’t feel enjoyable—it felt more like work than fun. After missing training camp and practice sessions, he focused on integrating himself back into the Bengals’ lineup. Finally, once he scored his first touchdown against the Washington Commanders, everything started to feel right again.

All this BS that was going on this offseason and prior to the season, I’m just happy that it’s over with. I’m finally playing ball and having fun with the guys. That’s what matters most for me

Ja’Marr Chase told media on Thursday, per ESPN

Ja’Marr Chase needed a solid play and a good game to snap out of his funk, and despite the loss, the Commanders game provided just that. Chase delivered his best performance of the season in the 38-33 home defeat. He caught six passes on seven targets for 128 yards and two touchdowns, marking his most productive outing since Week 13 of last season.

Chase also added that he is feeling great about the shoulder injury. The player was supposed to participate in limited fashion on Wednesday if the team had practiced instead of holding a walk-through. However, on Thursday, he stood as a full participant as the Bengals prepared for a road game against the Carolina Panthers (1-2).

Ja’Marr Chase and Bengals needs a much-needed win against the Panthers in Week 4

The Cincinnati Bengals are off to their worst start since 2019 after losing three games of the season. They are still a lot far from the big game they have been talking about, which many critics have pointed out.

As they face the Panthers in Week 4, a win is really important. In 2019, The Bengals finished with the league’s worst record, equally bad as the Bungles era, after losing eleven straight games.

Ja’Marr Chase said the team needs a win against Carolina “a thousand percent.” The Bengals are already in the rough. Although Joe Burrow seems to be playing better, he has come short of the NFL MVP potential player yet. Chase also noted that they are on the verge of their first victory.

We’re right there, we’re not too far away. We just got to finish in the end, and that’s the biggest thing right now.

The Bengals’ losses weren’t big margin losses. The loss against the Patriots and Commanders were by 6 and 5 points respectively. They were seemingly winning the game against the Chiefs until the very last minute. So, Ja’Marr Chase clearly has a point.
