$5 Billion man Mark Cuban stunned by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving snubs from 2025 All-Star
Former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban went on a tirade after the controversial All-Star snubs of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.
Mark Cuban stunned by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving All-Star snub
The All-Star Weekend is ready for action after the NBA announced the final All-Star selections for both conferences. While most of the league’s top stars made the cut, there were some notable exclusions from the list, none more egregious, perhaps, than Dallas Mavericks stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Their exclusion did not go unnoticed, with Mark Cuban digging into the league.
After the NBA announced the bench for the All-Star game, many stars missed out, including stars like Trae Young. But the biggest snubs were certainly perennial All-Stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Following the NBA’s announcement, former Mavericks majority owner Mark Cuban went on a tirade on social media.
Doncic’s exclusion from the game may be understandable to a point. This is because he has been out with injury for a significant period of time this season. However, the exclusion of Irving was certainly a headscratcher as Cuban pointed out. Irving has been doing the heavy lifting for the Mavs on the offensive end, with Doncic out with injury since his calf injury on Christmas Day.
Those tv ratings for All Star are gonna be crazy… Lol

NBA gonna NBA
JUST INSANE Luka and Kai aren't going https://t.co/cds3jkIzDB
So far this season, Irving has averaged 24.2 points, 4.9 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 38 games this season. While the Mavericks struggled often during that period, Irving’s play kept the team afloat in the absence of Luka Doncic. Somehow, they still hold onto the eighth seed. As Mark Cuban said, the exclusion of two of the league’s perennial All-Stars is certainly a questionable decision by the NBA.
OKC star set to shine over Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving
The NBA’s decision not to choose either Luka Doncic or Kyrie Irving primarily comes from the positional restrictions in the selection of All-Stars. In the Western Conference, Anthony Edwards and James Harden took the guard slots in the All-Star team. Meanwhile, Jalen Williams and Alperen Sengun took over the Wild Card selections.
Edward and Harden have clearly been pivotal in the success of their team, with both stars showing why they deserve to be in the All-Star game. However, the Wild Card All-Star selection went to OKC Thunder guard Jalen Williams, who arguably is the direct replacement for Kyrie Irving in the All-Star game.
So far this season, J Dub has averaged 21.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 45 games this season. While his counting stats certainly do not match up to those of Irving, the success of the Thunder as the best team in the league was a major reason for his selection over the Mavericks’ stars. The NBA All-Star Weekend is set to kick off on Feb. 14 in San Francisco.
