Tennis legend Martina Navratilova criticized Democrats after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to protect women’s sports. She has always supported fairness in female athletics.
Trump signed the “No Men in Women’s Sports” order at the White House. It gave federal agencies the power to enforce Title IX rules for groups receiving federal funds.
Navratilova, a lifelong Democrat, was disappointed that her party did not take similar action. Last month, she also spoke out when only two Democrats supported the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.
I hate that the democrats totally failed women and girls on this very clear issue of women’s sports being for females only. https://t.co/mevCXPDFFm

Before Trump signed the order, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt urged the Senate to vote on the bill. She warned that executive orders can be overturned.

Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, 2025. He called this moment the start of a “golden age” for the country.
Well, trump won. Fear and anger won. And a country that was born as a racist patriarchy proved beyond any reasonable doubt it still is a racist patriarchy. Not sure when this ceases to be true…

At the Capitol, Vice President JD Vance took the oath first, read by Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Trump followed at noon, swearing on both his family bible and the one used by Abraham Lincoln in 1861.
