Donald Trump has been declared the winner of the 2024 presidential elections. Martina Navratilova, a longtime critic of Trump and a supporter of Kamala Harris, took a brutal dig at those who voted for the 78-year-old.
Trump, elected as the 47th president of the United States, also became the second president to win non-consecutive terms since 1897. He crossed the 270 electoral votes mark that was needed to emerge as the winner.
Navratilova has not hidden from anyone that she ‘hates’ Trump. She called him a ‘psychopath’, and a ‘sick man’ among others. She used her social media handles to endorse Harris and often argued with those who called out her views. As Trump won, as expected, Navratilova, who was rather confident about Harris’ win, took to X to call America a racist patriarchy.

Well, trump won. Fear and anger won. And a country that was born as a racist patriarchy proved beyond any reasonable doubt it still is a racist patriarchy. Not sure when this ceases to be true…

Martina Navratilova reiterates inclusion of trans athletes affects women’s sports negatively
Martina Navratilova wants sporting bodies to listen to women about the involvement of trans athletes in their sports. She has time and again stated that it’s an injustice to those women who play against the trans athletes as the latter edge in strength. In one tweet, she stated that trans athletes’ inclusion is regressive and not progressive as it negatively affects many women.
When a user on X wrote that men’s inclusion in women’s sports means the latter’s exclusion, Navratilova also agreed with those views as she wrote, “Exactly that“. The user also shared two images, one of which was the controversial Imane Khelif versus Angela Carini boxing match at the Paris Olympics.

The 68-year-old also slammed Khelif in one of her recent tweets when reports emerged that the Algerian boxer who declared herself as female and participated in the women’s boxing event at the Paris Olympics, was confirmed as a ‘biological male’ by a medical report that was accessed by French journalist Djaffar Ait Aoudia. The report alleged that Khelif has XY chromosomes and doesn’t have a uterus.
Navratilova is an 18-time Grand Slam singles champion and retired from the sport in 2006. She has also won majors in doubles (31) and mixed doubles (10). Apart from the majors, she is also an eight-time WTA Finals champion in singles.
