American tennis legend Martina Navratilova never leaves a chance to ridicule Republican leader Donald Trump. On Saturday, the 67-year-old criticized the Presidential candidate for accepting a Purple Heart medal from a war veteran during his rally in North Carolina. As Trump came to address the people of North Carolina, he was presented with a Purple Heart medal from a Vietnam War veteran.
Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna read a letter from the veteran, Dwight, to Trump during their meeting in the Fayetteville, North Carolina town hall. The veteran gave away his medal to Trump for the Republican leader’s courageous act during his first assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.
Dear President Trump, watching you during the Butler rally and you getting back up, both my wife and I gave a sigh of relief as well as a few tears. I would be honored if you would accept this small token I received as a young marine in Vietnam. My wife and I both thought it appropriate.
The War Veteran said for Donald Trump while giving his Purple Heart medal.
Dwight also expressed his admiration for Trump’s response to the assassination attempt during Butler rally on stage, saying he “couldn’t think of anyone more deserving” of the medal. The video of Trump getting the praise went viral and reached Navratilova, who ridiculed the Republican.

The Purple Heart medal is awarded to service personnel who have made significant sacrifices for the US military in times of war. Interestingly, Trump never served in the military.
In fact, Trump avoided serving in the military five times: once due to a medical disqualification stemming from a bone spur in one of his heels, and then four more times due to academic concerns.
Martina Navratilova targets Donald Trump over his announcement to change Fort Liberty’s name
At the same rally in North Carolina, Donald Trump also announced that he would revert the name of a North Carolina military base back to its prior name honoring a Confederate general, and suggested his pledge to do so will lead to “winning absolutely” in the election.

Trump also announced that if elected, he would change Fort Liberty’s name back to Fort Bragg, after Confederate Gen. Braxton Bragg, who enslaved people and is widely regarded as one of the worst and most loathed generals of the Civil War.
I think I just learned the secret to winning absolutely and by massive margins. I’m going to promise to you, as I said at the beginning, that we’re going to change the name back to Fort Bragg.
