Quite like many sports personalities, tennis legend Martina Navratilova has reacted to Donald Trump winning a second term at the White House. This news comes as a big shock to millions of Americans, as the Republican presidential candidate comfortably defeated Democrat Kamala Harris to become the 47th President.
Navratilova, known for her outspoken views on social media, was a critic of Trump and a big supporter of the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. In fact, she endorsed Harris a few weeks leading up to the election day and encouraged her supporters to “VOTEBlue” on election day. Despite her efforts, Trump was re-elected as the US President for a second term.
However, upon the announcement of Trump’s victory on November 6, she penned down a message for the American public on social media.
Well, Trump won. Fear and anger won. And a country that was born as a racist patriarchy proved beyond any reasonable doubt it still is a racist patriarchy.

Her reaction didn’t go well with an X user by the name of David Thunder, as he explained that Trump voters are not all idiots and fascists. He used his blog as a reference, pointing out that the Republican candidate’s re-election shocked millions of Americans, and they could not understand how a ‘convicted felon’ could win an election.
Thunder further explained that the Democrats labeling Trump’s voters as “stupid” or “nihilistic” does not suggest a constructive approach to exploring the real concerns of voters. In response, Navratilova revealed that wasn’t her point, hinting some voters backed him because of his “racism and fascism.”

Martina Navratilova reacts to report that Kamala Harris lost votes because of transgender issues
Martina Navratilova has always been against transgender athletes competing in women’s sports. She has used her X account as a civic engagement to her followers about the dangers of it.
However, a recent report by Blueprint revealed that among other things, Kamala Harris lost voters to Donald Trump because of not clarifying her stance on transgender issues.
That led an X user to react to the tweet, writing that it was a policy that was against the American middle-class culture. The user explained that the Democrats championed the transgender policies in sports, which was against voters’ position. To that, Navratilova reacted:

However, with Trump’s win over Harris, he is set to serve as the American President from January 2025 onwards. It marks a continuation of his leadership from 2016 to 2020.
