Martina Navratilova doesn’t mince her words whenever trans athletes are allowed to compete in women’s events. This time however, she called out those in a court where an accused with a beard was addressed as “she” in Norfolk.
In a tweet, an X user shared a report which stated how a trans activist was referred to as “she” and “her“. The report also revealed that the judge refused to jail the activist in spite of having a very long criminal record. Navratilova, without writing anything, expressed her shock as she responded with three emoticons.

Navratilova has also criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC) when two controversial athletes were allowed to participate in women-only events at the Paris Olympics. The two boxers, Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting, allegedly failed gender tests conducted by the International Boxing Association (IBA). Both the boxers won gold medals in their respective events.
This is not the first time that Navratilova shared her opinions about trans people on X as she has time and again called out events or famous personalities who think that trans people have the right to play in women’s events.
Martina Navratilova explained why she thinks trans athletes’ participation in women’s events is wrong
Last year during an interview, Martina Navratilova talked at length about the controversial topic of trans athletes’ participation in women’s sports. Navratilova has made herself clear that she doesn’t have a problem with trans people on a civil level, but when it comes to sports, she cannot accept them as they have more “advantage” over women.

This is not against trans athletes. This is against male bodies competing as women if they identify as women. Many sports don’t even have any mitigation, any allowance for lowering the testosterone level, et cetera. But what has been proven is that even when you do take those testosterone blockers or hormone therapy, even after 15 years, male bodies still retain a physical advantage over women athletes.

Navratilova also gave her stance on whether being gay also gives her and other players who identify as gay an advantage on tennis courts. She stated that a gay person can compete in women’s sports as she is a biological female.
The 18-time singles Grand Slam champion, who is also gay, talked about the struggles while dealing with periods during her playing days. She revealed that she lost many matches because she got her period and how she was trying to take birth-control pills so that she would know when her period would come but it made her sick, and so she stopped.
