American tennis legend Martina Navratilova is not letting the “travesty” at the 2024 Paris Olympics slip under the rug anytime soon. The 67-year-old is leaving no chance to express her disappointment at whatever transpired at the Summer Games.
While Navratilova has put up a number of posts to voice out her opinion against Gender Row, she reacted to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach confirming that he will not extend his term beyond the limit. The former American WTA star is happy that Bach won’t continue at the helm.
The IOC President, during the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, confirmed that “he is not looking to have his term extended beyond the term limit stipulated by the Olympic Charter.” The news was welcomed by the critics who were against (alleged) male boxers (Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting) competing in the female category.
Navratilova also expressed her delight after April Hutchinson, a Canadian powerlifter, shared the post from IOC Media on X announcing Bach’s decision. As Hutchinson hoped “the next IOC President knows what a woman is and ensures the safety & integrity of the female category,” Navratilova agreed.
Well hallelujah!!!Martina Navratilova posted on X.
This post from Navratilova attracted quite a few reactions, with some agreeing with her while some expressing dissent at the former tennis ace continuing to target IOC despite their explanation.
Martina Navratilova to land in trouble for her posts against Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting?
While Martina Navratilova has not refrained from taking potshots and the IOC as well as the two boxers- Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting at the center of the gender row, the former tennis ace might land in trouble for the same. It has been reported that Khelif has filed a legal complaint against social media platform X for harassment.
The gold medal winner’s lawyer said on Saturday that she filed the formal complaint in France. Citing court documents, the French newspaper Le Monde reported that the boxing champion “filed a complaint against X” with the Paris Correctional Court, the national center for combating online harassment.

It is worth mentioning that the individuals mentioned in the complaint were described as “important political figures” with wide followings on X. While it is not certain that Navratilova might be on that list, there is a chance that the tennis legend might land in trouble for her posts against Khelif.
