The United States, on January 3, launched an attack on Venezuela and seized its President, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores, on accusations of narco-terrorism. Tennis great Martina Navratilova called her country’s interference “pillaging” and “illegal”, criticizing United States President Donald Trump and backing sanctions on US oil companies that are accused of resource imperialism.
Her critics, mostly those who support the Republicans, asked her to stick to tennis, telling her that she has no clue about politics. But Navratilova pays no heed to such remarks as her bio on X reads, “Personal insults or telling me to stick to tennis=BLOCK“.
Holding a country hostage while pillaging its natural resources.

Following the US’s attack, American political consultant Lauren Windsor took to X and wrote that US oil companies that are trying to take control over Venezuela’s resources should be sanctioned by the International Criminal Court. Venezuela has the world’s largest proven crude oil reserves (about 300 billion barrels).
Any American oil company that expropriates oil from Venezuela should be sanctioned by the International Criminal Court.

A few hours later, Navratilova retweeted Windsor’s post and wrote, “Love it.” In another post, she dropped, “Omg…,” after coming across NBC News’ headline following their exclusive interview with Trump, which read, “Trump says the U.S. government may reimburse oil companies for rebuilding Venezuela’s infrastructure.“
Love it

Navratilova also retweeted several clips of Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s interview with CNN in the aftermath of the US’s military attack. Greene said Americans elected Trump to run America and not be a globalist and put full focus on foreign countries.
When Trump told Fox News, “This incredible thing last night… We have to do it again. We can do it again, too. Nobody can stop us,” Navratilova tweeted, “He is absolutely insane. Not to mention this is completely illegal.”

In another post, the 69-year-old called the 45th US President a serial criminal.
Peace president my a**! Trump is breaking more laws than all the previous presidents combined. A serial criminal on so many different fronts!

Martina Navratilova supports JK Rowling’s views on males in women’s spaces
Although Martina Navratilova is a staunch critic of Donald Trump and the Republicans, she agrees with their views when it comes to trans people. Navratilova has time and again said that she has no issues with trans people, but what she is against is biological men entering women’s spaces as well as competing in women’s sports.

Last year, Harry Potter author JK Rowling debated with English columnist Dan Hodges on X when the latter criticized the “hostile” treatment of biological men in women’s spaces.
What you, and many other men, fail to grasp, possibly because you’re so used to women coddling men’s feelings you see it as the natural order of things, is that while a trans-identified man is absolutely and rightly free to dress and refer to himself however he likes in our society, that doesn’t give him rights over women’s beliefs and speech.
JK Rowling wrote
Rowling, once a beloved author, has become a controversial figure in recent years because of her views on transgender people.
I don’t believe a man literally becomes a woman when he identifies as one, and as I have freedom of speech, I have the right to call him a man. The verifiable truth of sex forms the legal basis for women’s rights and for safeguarding.

Another user argued that trans people entering women’s spaces is a “fringe issue”. When Navratilova came across the response, she hit back.
Fringe for you maybe. Not so fringe for the women who are affected by males in women’s sex based spaces . Compelled speech is not ok either….
