Martina Navratilova, advocating for women’s rights globally, recently criticized the bias in how male athletes are favored over their female counterparts. Her remarks come amid widespread acclaim for the Afghanistan cricket team following their impressive performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifying rounds.
With the many issues going on in their country, the International Cricket Council was more than happy to let them practice in another country, allowing them to show their brilliance and qualify for the Super 8 of the World Cup.
However, the situation was practically worse for the Afghanistan Women’s cricket team, who were barely even allowed to exist at home. They had requested the ICC to allow them to train elsewhere, but till now, the council has not even started a discussion about this. They cast a blind eye to the Women’s team, triggering many journalists and fans, including Martina Navratilova.
Shame on all these men who keep giving male athletes every advantage possible, denying same for women athletes.Martina Navratilova wrote on X
Even the Afghanistan women’s team has the same capabilities as the men to upset a ruling team and possibly emerge victorious as an underdog. However, with no support from the main council, it becomes tough for the women to train like their male counterparts.

Martina Navratilova questions the Olympics committee over the inclusion of transgender women in women’s sports
Ever since the Olympic committee had allowed each sporting body or tournament to set its own rules for the inclusion of trans in their sports, there has been a lot of backlash from the journalists, the experts, and even the women involved in sports.
With transgender women participating, it gives them a major advantage to dominate over the women in the sport that the natural-born women are forced to pull out. With the Olympics coming around the corner, tennis legend Martina Navratilova questioned this and the rules at the Games by sharing an article of the National Post.
