Martina Navratilova has been in the spotlight for the last few weeks due to her outspoken criticism of men taking part in women’s sports. She has always used her social media reach to convey her stance on such issues.

Navratilova has always firmly stood against men competing alongside women and was also actively putting forth her opinions on the matter during the recent controversies at the Paris Olympics. She spoke against boxers Imane Khelif and Lang Yu-Ting, both of whom won gold medals in their respective categories after it came to light that they failed gender tests earlier in their careers.

Some journalists with similar opinions as the former tennis World No. 1 have also been expressing their concerns on the issue. It recently came to light that ESPN, one of USA’s most successful sports broadcasting agencies, fired journalist Samantha Ponder after she was outspoken about her stance on the matter, much to Navratilova’s dismay.

Martina Navratilova adopts two sons with wife Julia Lemigova

Later this year, Martina Navratilova and Julia Lemigova will celebrate ten years of marriage, having gotten married in December 2014. Lemigova has two daughters of her own with her former partner and unfortunately lost her firstborn son very early in a tragic mishap involving a nanny. 

Earlier this week, Navratilova and Lemigova announced that they had adopted two boys into their family. This will see them become parents together for the first time in their relationship.

Further details about this have been kept private and the couple has just expressed their profound happiness with their decision, as they had been planning to do so for a while now. Last year, Navratilova had spoken about adopting kids with her wife after defeating cancer for the second time in her life.
