Featherweight boxer Lin Yu-ting, who claimed an Olympic gold medal in Paris, now finds herself in another controversy. Yu-ting recently withdrew from a Boxing competition in the United Kingdom after the organizers questioned her gender. This has led tennis legend Martina Navratilova to take a subtle dig at the Taiwanese boxer.
Yu-ting was the subject of serious debate during the Paris Olympics because of controversies surrounding her gender. However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) came to her defense, claiming that she was eligible to compete in women’s boxing. But that didn’t sway Navratilova from launching her criticism against the Taiwanese boxer.
The tennis legend has always been a staunch critic of transgender athletes in women’s sports. Unfortunately for Yu-ting, it seems Navratilova isn’t the only person kicking against transgender athletes. The organizers of the World Boxing Cup in Sheffield also questioned the 28-year-old’s gender eligibility after the event began on November 27.
The competition was supposed to be Yu-ting’s first event since the Paris Olympics, but she recently announced that she had withdrawn from competing. The announcement was good news for Navratilova as she questioned why the boxer decided to pull out of the international competition.
Could be elevated levels of testosterone? Perhaps?

Following Yu-ting’s withdrawal, the Taiwan Sports Administration slammed the World Boxing Cup organizers stirring up questions about the 28-year-old boxer. They added that since Yu-ting played at the Paris Olympics, those questions aren’t supposed to be brought up again.
Martina Navratilova slams media giant for supporting transgender athletes in women’s sports
Martina Navratilova has continued to be an advocate against transgender athletes entering into female sports. She has often expressed her concerns and has always stated that it takes away opportunities from women.
Recently, the New York Times published an article on the current controversy sweeping through women’s college volleyball.

The article revealed that multiple teams forfeited games against San Jose State University because of transgender player Blaire Fleming. The NY Times made light of the case, saying that the athlete was not breaking the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules. But Martina Navratilova slammed the media giant for their report.
According to @nytimes women are a subset of males who identify as trans as in non trans women. Can’t make this crap up.

Navratilova has never been in favor of transgender women entering into female-only designated places in public.
