Martina Navratilova has slammed Texas abortion law that makes it impossible for women to abort even with serious pregnancy complications. The American tennis legend has been a vocal feminist on women’s rights.

In 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Roe vs. Wade ruling, which gives the constitutional right to abortion right for women. Since the overturn, several states have loosened the vague law making it easy for women to abort, while Republican-led States, like Texas, have made it more difficult for women to constitutionally remove babies from their wombs.

Last month, a group of women took a serious petition to the Texas Supreme Court seeking that the abortion law should not be invoked when medically necessary abortion is needed. They failed to stern the tides of the restriction, as the judges upheld the Texas law restricting several exceptions.

Martina Navratilova reacted to a social media post of a cartoon showing a nurse telling a girl she has to keep her baby.

Sorry Sally, This is Texas, you'll have to keep your daddy's baby. We sure wouldn't want you to end up childless with cats.
The cartoon read

The former tennis player then reposted the tweet on X, indirectly slamming the Justices and labeling them ‘old men.’

Disgusting that these old men in power positions are doing this to women again!!!!

Martina Navratilova slams International Olympics Committee for defending trans-athletes participating in women’s event

Martina Navratilova has slammed the International Olympic Committee for allowing trans-athletes to compete in women’s events at the Paris Olympics. Two boxers, Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting and Algeria’s Imane Khelif, and two footballers Zambia’s Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji have been in the mix of the controversy.

The four athletes failed the eligibility gender test at the World Boxing Championship and Women’s African Cup of Nations and we were disqualified from the tournament. Navratilova bashed the IOC for defending their rights to compete at the Olympics.

There are several male athletes (boxers and soccer players) competing as women and @iocmedia is ok with it. They were not born female. The DNA says male. This is not anti trans at all - it’s only trying to keep women’s category female. Get it now?

The major reason behind these controversies remains that the IOC is independent from other sports associations-run events.
