About a month after the Roland Garros, tennis players arrived in London for Wimbledon, and two weeks after the conclusion of the grass-court major event they will be back in Paris for the Olympics. Tennis great Martina Navratilova thinks players will be exhausted after the Olympics.
This is not the first time anyone raised doubts about whether players would be able to play quality tennis, given that after the grass season, they will be playing on clay again. For the same reason, some players have opted out of the Olympics so that they can keep their bodies physically fresh for the US Open. Navratilova feels players will be somehow “okay” for the Olympics, but they may not have much energy for the season’s last major event.

So, basically, two weeks after Wimbledon is over, the Olympics start, and the top players who have played here really, but such a short turnaround, and then you’re there, and it’s emotionally exhausting, physically exhausting, and then they go on the hard courts.Martina Navratilova told Tennis Channel

Martina Navratilova recalls Novak Djokovic’s US Open campaign to assert her opinions
Martina Navratilova recalled Novak Djokovic‘s US Open campaign to assert how top players will be physically and emotionally exhausted after the Olympics. Djokovic reached the semifinals in the 2020 Olympics but lost to Alexander Zverev before losing the bronze medal match as well, against Pablo Carreno Busta.

He also played mixed doubles and made it to the semifinals but withdrew from the bronze medal match. Then in the US Open, the 24-time Grand Slam champion lost his title to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets.
I think it cost Novak Djokovic the Grand Slam three years ago, and now they’re doing it again. It’s going to be more tough than the surface, it’s just the emotional and mental stuff that will get you down.Martina Navratilova told Tennis Channel
Djokovic recently lost the Wimbledon final as well against Carlos Alcaraz but has set his eyes on the Olympic gold medal. He won a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
