There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past month regarding Goldberg having one more match. The WWE Hall of Famer was on ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday. He announced that Nick Khan, Triple H, and Chris Legentil told him that he’d have his WWE retirement match in 2025. Goldberg even referred to Gunther as his victim.

Dave Meltzer, via F4WOnline Daily Update, proclaimed that the speculated Goldberg vs. Gunther showdown isn’t planned for next year’s Royal Rumble. That leaves WrestleMania 41 as an obvious destination for Goldberg’s swansong. However, there’s no evidence for that.

Moreover, Gunther’s penciled in for a match against John Cena that could pretty much happen at The Showcase of the Immortals in Las Vegas. If that ends up happening at Mania, Bill Goldberg may just have to find solace in hanging up his boots at one of the two Saudi Arabia-hosted PLEs WWE does each year.

Moreover, the local authorities have remained high on having the former WCW Champion wrestle in their country owing to his immense popularity in the Middle East. Goldberg last competed in Saudi Arabia two years ago at the Elimination Chamber. Back then, he lost to Roman Reigns. But now, given that he’s gunning for getting his pound of flesh on Gunther, it’s going to take a lot more.

At the Bad Blood PLE in October, The Ring General fired personal shots at The Icon, who was sitting front row along with his son, Gage, and wife, Wanda Ferraton. The 57-year-old even jumped the barricade to make a beeline for the World Heavyweight Champion. However, the arena security blocked the passage to avert any physical confrontation.

Gunther responds to Goldberg’s outspoken antics since Bad Blood faceoff

It seems like Gunther is more than ready to face Goldberg if the opportunity comes along. He recently dove into his infamous berating of the former NFL fame. The Imperium boss spoke to WWE Espanol, detailing what he was thinking when he saw Goldberg at Bad Blood.

Gunther said he was just trying to lighten up the mood a bit. Moreover, The Austrian claimed meeting a ton of legends backstage that day, but Bill. So if the ex-defensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons is up for another match, he’d gladly teach him a lesson, said Gunther.

The latter just suffered a rare defeat at Crown Jewel, losing out to Cody Rhodes after a roll up. That was only his second pinfall loss since moving to the main roster. Sami Zayn first broke the chokehold on Gunther at WrestleMania XL.
