Carlos Alcaraz played one of his best matches of the year. Despite not being in top form, the Spaniard returned from a forearm injury to compete in the French Open. Facing a tough draw, he delivered outstanding performances in all his games, dominating his way through the rounds.
However, Alcaraz faced his biggest challenge in the semi-final stage when he competed against Jannik Sinner for a spot in the finals. Despite experiencing early cramps, the Spaniard found himself playing catch-up for most of the match. Fortunately, his opponent also suffered from cramps, providing Alcaraz with a good opportunity to seize the lead in the match.

Grabbing the opportunity with both hands, he forced the game to a fifth set where he dominated for most of the play before winning the match 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to make it to his first-ever French Open finals. This was one of those games where Alcaraz could not play any of his fancy shots and was forced to stick to the traditional tennis way.
Former World No. 1 Mats Wilander was rather impressed with this style of tennis from Alcaraz and even praised the Spaniard, comparing him to the likes of the Big Three, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal.
I think he has to play like this in certain matches, less drop shots, less fancy. I mean he is going to be nearly impossible to beat. He is obviously great when he is aggressive and he is great when he defends. But for me, today he showed that he is going to be as good as Roger, Rafael, and Novak at defense.Mats Wilander said via Eurosports
Carlos Alcaraz achieves a rare feat after thriller of a semi-final against Jannik Sinner
Last night, Carlos Alcaraz reached his first-ever French Open finals after a thrilling victory against Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals. Both the players, who consider each other rivals, gave the fans another great match as they played an intense 5-setter.

Furthermore, Alcaraz became the youngest player to reach the finals on all the courts, clay, hard, and grass. He will now take on the determined Alexander Zverev for a maiden title in Paris. Zverev, on the other hand, would look to achieve what he lost last year and win a maiden Slam.
Carlos Alcaraz becomes the 2nd youngest man since 2000 to reach the Roland Garros final.
