Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the latest episode of SmackDown against Meta-Four, comprising Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven were also present ringside throughout this championship match.
The competitors got into a kerfuffle by the announcer’s table, and somehow the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions also got involved. Chelsea Green rolled over the announcers’ desk and fell into Michael Cole’s lap. Her husband, Matt Cardona, reposted a clip of the incident and called SmackDown an unsafe working environment.
During the match, Jackson restrained Bianca Belair at ringside and asked her tag team partner to take a shot. Green seemed elated by this and began taunting the EST. Seeing the action, Legend climbed down from the ring. She hit the Canadian with a scissors kick, making her fall into the wrestling commentator’s lap. Meanwhile, Corey Graves continued to call the match after the champions started to fight back against the challengers.
However, Cole seemed too distracted to call the action. He told the 33-year-old to get off of him and said that he might vomit as coughing and choking sounds could be heard by the audience.
There is definitely no love lost between these two. A few weeks ago on SmackDown, Cole announced a dumpster match between Green and Michin. During this announcement, he was seen excitedly jumping out of his chair and hitting the announcer’s table at the prospect of the Canadian being dumped into trash.
Matt Cardona talks about returning to WWE in a recent YouTube video
Matt Cardona has completely re-invented himself since being released from WWE in 2020. He has become a huge draw for various wrestling promotions, won gold all over, and put on incredible matches all over the world. Despite his well-deserved success in the independent circuit, fans cannot help but wonder if the erstwhile Zack Ryder would ever come back to WWE.
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Cardona said that he had done it all during his time in the indies. He was celebrating twenty years of his time in the professional wrestling industry and four years since he got released. Although he had achieved a lot, he felt like his prime was still ahead of him.
However, he was still contemplating if he should go back to WWE. Despite 14 years with the company, he never won the WWE title. That is his ultimate goal, and he is willing to die trying for it. If he ever went back to the Stamford-based promotion, it would be to make a huge difference.
