There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that AEW has turned out to be WWE’s biggest rival promotion in recent years. However, there are still some distinctions between the two, and someone like Matt Hardy, who has experience with both, explained them very well. He criticized the Jacksonville-based company for a specific reason in a podcast.
While speaking with Jon Alba, he expressed his honest opinions about both companies. He stated that AEW focused more on delivering 5-star matches. It wasn’t a lie, as they have some of the world’s greatest wrestlers in the form of Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Daniel Bryan. However, one thing Matt Hardy felt they missed was creating interesting storylines and delivering impactful moments for fans.

On the flip side, WWE has showcased some of the best storylines in recent times. For instance, the entire Bloodline saga had numerous twists and turns throughout its run. Not only that, but CM Punk and Drew McIntyre screwing each other over have created some of the most viral moments, and fans couldn’t stop talking about them on social media. Moreover, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray stated that, while Omega was a great wrestler, he needed to work with someone like Randy Orton.

The 49-year-old veteran recently left the Jacksonville-based company after his contract expired on June 1, along with stars like Arn Anderson and Jake Hager. He also revealed that his brother was leaving AEW and was just waiting for a call. The Charismatic Enigma did return in TNA at Against All Odds and save Matt from The System.
Matt Hardy expressed his true feelings about the debut of the Wyatt Sicks faction on Raw
The much-awaited debut of the Wyatt Sicks got the entire WWE Universe buzzing, including WWE legend Matt Hardy. Sharing a special connection with Bray during his “Broken” run in WWE, fans were eager to hear his opinion on the whole thing. He certainly gave his honest opinion about it in a podcast.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Matt was thoroughly impressed by how they executed the whole segment. He explained the importance of making a first impression impactful and powerful for the audience. The 49-year-old veteran felt that the faction was certainly able to achieve that.
I thought it was excellent. I know the WWE mindset, that you really get one opportunity to make an impression, and you need to make it as impactful and as powerful as possible. I thought they did an amazing job doing that.Matt Hardy on Wyatt Sicks debut via Busted Open Radio

Hardy described the whole experience as horrific, eerie, and creepy when they all assembled on the stage. Finally, he loved the subtle tribute to Bray, as Uncle Howdy said, “We’re here,” with a lantern in his hand. The elder Hardy stated that the segment was incredible and turned out better than he expected.
