“Wasn’t happy about it,” Controversial ex-WWE Superstar reveals how he persuaded Roman Reigns to work together after the latter called him a ‘b*tch’

A former MMA figure-turned-wrestler got on the wrong side of Roman Reigns during his time in WWE, but they eventually worked together.

Roman Reigns doesn’t have a history of holding grudges with a ton of his fellow WWE Superstars. However, exceptions are always there. Recently, former WWE wrestler Matt Riddle revealed that his comments from an interview in 2021 made Reigns upset. The Tribal Chief took offense at Matt saying he could beat Roman in a real fight. It even led to Reigns calling him a “b*tch”.

Riddle has now disclosed how he and Roman put their real-life beef on the back burner and even went on to wrestle a match in June 2022. Speaking to the NY Post, The Original Bro confirmed that he talked it out with the Samoan wrestler in-person. Riddle explained that he was just sporting a gimmicky response in regards to beating up Reigns in a shoot fight.

Matt, who’s currently signed to MLW, said the remarks that Roman was mad at were made merely to further RK-Bro‘s (team of Matt Riddle and Randy Orton) rivalry with The Bloodline. The former United States Champion mentioned in chat with the New York Post that once Roman saw his professionalism in the ring, that also changed things for the better.

I think when he saw how professional I am in the ring and I also explained why things were said and I wasn’t just trying to call you out. I think he understood that. Still wasn’t happy about it, but understood. Me and Roman, we’re good.

The OTC finally understood the rationale behind Riddle’s contentious statement but still wasn’t happy about it. Nonetheless, two grown-up pros chucked through their differences. As of now, The King of Bros said he’s good with Reigns. Riddle and Orton, the then-Raw Tag Team Champions eventually lost their gold to The Usos.

As a result, Jimmy and Jey unified the doubles silverware to embark on a career-defining title reign. On the other hand, Riddle emerged as the No. 1 contender for Roman’s then-held Undisputed WWE Universal title. They went hard at each other on an episode of Smackdown in mid-2022, with The OTC standing tall.

Roman Reigns set to be off TV following recent assault on SmackDown

Ever since making his return at SummerSlam, all Roman Reigns has done is beat up Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline black and blue. Just when it appeared like The Needle Mover succeeded in salvaging the revered Ula Fala from Sikoa, a returning Jacob Fatu stopped Roman dead in his tracks.

The former Bloodline boss endured a 4-on-1 beatdown a couple of weeks ago. The Big Uce isn’t expected to be back anytime soon after that angle. However, he was once advertised for the September 13 edition of the blue brand.

It would mark the show circling back to the USA Network after more than a five-year hiatus. Per recent changes, Roman doesn’t seem likely to appear on that night. It may have a lot to do with Reigns choosing to stay with his family, who’s mourning the loss of Afa Anoa’i.
