Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are currently the two most outstanding players in the men’s circuit. For the second consecutive season, the duo has dominated the ATP Tour. More recently, Italian star Matteo Arnaldi has revealed why Alcaraz and Sinner are better than the rest on tour.

In 2025 alone, Alcaraz and Sinner claimed a combined fourteen titles on tour, with no player winning more than four titles. Alcaraz won eight titles, including two Grand Slams and three ATP Masters 1000 crowns, while his arch-rival lifted six tour-level titles, including the ATP Finals in Turin and one Masters 1000 title.

The duo has dominated Grand Slam tournaments for the past two years, with Novak Djokovic being the last player to win it in 2023 besides Alcaraz and Sinner. Also, this year, the only player to reach a major tournament final apart from them was Alexander Zverev at the 2025 Australian Open in Melbourne.

Other players have tried to challenge them, but their efforts have proven to be no match at the end of the day, as Alcaraz and Sinner have shown superior quality. They have also displayed a level of consistency that other players cannot emulate. However, what has led to Alcaraz and Sinner’s dominance is the fact that their rivalry has pushed them to evolve faster than other players.

Both players are often seeking to work on their weaknesses in training with their coaches. In an interview with Puntodebreak, Arnaldi was asked about the dominance of Alcaraz and Sinner. The former World No.30 revealed that the two top players show an incredible level of consistency that other players can’t produce:

Alcaraz and Sinner have a consistency that the rest of the Top 10 lacks, but besides their incredible consistency, in my opinion, they have an extra element to their game in crucial moments that others currently do not possess. The biggest difference is their consistency. Zverev, Fritz, and many others always have close matches but then do not win two or three tournaments in a row or perhaps lose early in a Grand Slam.

Alcaraz and Sinner are set to face each other in an exhibition match in Seoul, South Korea, on January 10, just eight days before the Australian Open kicks off in Melbourne. Both players will be seeking to continue with the 225 form next year and possibly add more Grand Slams to their trophy cabinets.

Matteo Arnaldi hopes to learn from Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner on tour

Matteo Arnaldi failed to show any level of consistency on the court this season after reaching a career-high of World No.30 in 2024. His best runs this year came at the Delray Beach Open, where he reached the semi-finals, and the Madrid Open, reaching the quarter-finals. In the other tournaments, he performed poorly.

He has slipped down to World No.61 in the ATP rankings and holds a poor 20-24 win-loss record in 2025. During the aforementioned interview, he revealed that he plans to learn from Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner after his poor performances this season. He noted that he will analyze their performance and seek what to improve on ahead of 2026:

So, undoubtedly, they are two people that it is a pleasure to have around right now, whom I admire a lot; you try to analyze them, try to understand what they do well. What is their secret? What makes them so consistent? That is what I was looking for: consistency. So, for me, it is definitely good to have them on the tour, to be close to them and see what they do.

Alcaraz and Sinner will head into the 2026 season with different off-court situations. The former recently parted ways with his long-term coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, after an incredible seven years together. On the other hand, Sinner is likely to keep Darren Cahill, who wanted to leave after the end of the 2025 season.
