Max Verstappen and his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, are soon to welcome their first child together. While the former was busy racing at the Japanese Grand Prix, the latter was celebrating her baby shower in Monaco. In a recent post on her social media, she shared wholesome snippets from the event, careful not to reveal the gender of the baby.

Max Verstappen’s new yacht in Monte Carlo made up for the venue of his partner’s baby shower last week. While his work commitments held him out, Brazilian model Kelly Piquet was surrounded by friends and family for the joyous occasion.

She brought the weekend to her Instagram handle in her recent carousel of pictures. The center table was filled with sweet delicacies, including a huge cake that the group munched on. Piquet donned an off-shoulder piece with minimalistic jewellery embracing her baby bump.

They converted the entire yacht into a pastel backdrop consisting of flowers, balloons, and music. “Could not have asked for a more perfect day,” wrote Kelly Piquet.

She posted a similar sort of bunch on her stories as well. While Kelly Piquet was with her loved ones, Max Verstappen had a celebration of his own in Japan. The racer tasted the first win of the 2025 Formula 1 season at Suzuka.

This was the first race of the triple header, including the Grands Prix of Japan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. Earlier this year, reports indicated that Verstappen and Piquet would welcome their baby around April, making fans anticipate the arrival.

The time of the arrival also left the fans curious whether Max Verstappen was going to be present at the birth of his first child. In a previous interview, the Dutch racing driver shed some light on the possibility. Unfortunately for the soon-to-be dad, he would miss out if Piquet went into labour in the next two weeks. While he was accepting of the situation, he expressed regret over F1 not having leaves.

Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet announced back in December 2024 that they were expecting their first child to arrive in 2025. This will be Piquet’s second baby after her five-year-old daughter Penelope with former partner Daniil Kvyat, Russian F1 driver.

Verstappen and Piquet announced the news on a joint post on social media, with a picture of the former’s hand on the model’s belly. Notably, the two made sure to keep the gender of their baby a secret from the world.

Until recently, when Kelly Piquet posted pictures from her baby shower, the internet was quick to realize it was close to a gender reveal party for their friends and family. In one of the pictures, she added a clip of herself where she wrote a note to her unborn baby. An account on X posted a zoomed-in snippet from the clip. It clearly revealed the couple were set to welcome their first daughter.

The message from one of Kelly’s friends talked of the inclusion of another girl in the family. However, some fans opined the model had been hinting at the baby’s gender for some time now. Her stories of the past month were peculiarly pink-tinted. Regardless, Kelly Piquet and Max Verstappen‘s fans were equally excited and happy for their family.
