Max Verstappen looks forward to the Portugal Grand Prix

Max Verstappen has had an incredible start to the 2021 F1 season, and finds himself just one point behind championship leader, Lewis Hamilton. The Dutch driver finished on the second spot at the Bahrain GP, after an intense battle with the Briton.
At the Imola GP, he finished P1, despite starting on the third spot in the grid. The Red Bull driver won convincingly and is a real title contender this season. Verstappen is looking forward to return to Portugal this weekend, a place where he attained a podium finish last season.
“I am looking forward to returning to Portugal. We were on the podium there last year and I think we have a better car now, so I’m looking forward to getting everything out of the car and having fun there,” he told his website Verstappen.com.
We have started the season strongly: Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen believes that Red Bull have made their best start to the season in years. The Dutch was happy with the RB16B, which was much faster and has better balance. Verstappen finished P3 in the championship last season, behind the Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. Red Bull have a much better car this season, and they can push Mercedes for the championship.
“I’m happy with the RB16B: it’s faster, has more grip and better balance. We lost downforce with the floor, but I think we lost a bit less than other teams and you can see we have made a big step forward,” he explained.
“We started the season strongly, the best since I’ve been at Red Bull Racing. It’s a long season and if we want to fight for the championship we have to keep improving,” the Dutch added.
