Qualifying was very difficult to drive: Max Verstappen
Most drivers found it difficult to drive in the qualifying session at Portugal, as the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen struggled to maintain their pace. Verstappen believes that P3 is not an ideal qualifying position, but Red Bull have to fight it out against the Mercedes duo.
“Qualifying was very difficult to drive. I was struggling with grip. It’s not ideal. We’ll try to fight [Mercedes] in the race,” said the Dutch driver.
On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton congratulated Valtteri Bottas for his incredible lap, and accepted that he was not up to his mark.
“Great job by Valtteri. Not the perfect lap [by me] but I gave it everything,” said Hamilton.
