Rafael Nadal registered his 1000th ATP win last week at the Paris Masters and became only the 4th man to do so. Speaking after his quarterfinal victory against Pablo Carreno Busta last week, Rafael Nadal revealed his favourite shot and his future plans after tennis, which included a desire to have children.

The Roland Garros Youtube channel held a talk show with Rafael Nadal in which fans asked the Spaniard a few questions. The episode was titled ‘Chatting with Rafael Nadal.‘ One of the fans asked him he had any more dreams remaining. The Spaniard said that his main aim was to keep playing tennis as long as he felt right, and also revealed he plans to have kids sometime in the future.

I have plenty of dreams left. In terms of my tennis career, my dream is to just keep going and to make sure I am happy about it. In terms of life, there are plenty of things to come hopefully. Ofcourse, I want to create a family, and there are lot of things to come after tennis. I am very excited about it,” said Rafael Nadal. The host of the show jokingly remarked if winning the Masters in Golf was a dream to which Nadal replied, ” Maybe said that will not be easy.

Rafael Nadal’s forehands are one of the most lethal shots in tennis. The Spaniard is ruthless when he pulls out his big forehands, like in the final against Novak Djokovic at the French Open 2020. One of the fans asked Rafael Nadal about his favourite shot to which the Spaniard did not hesitate and said that it was his forehand.

“I like the forehand, I honestly do not have a favourite shot but if I have to say one, it is the forehand. If I have an important point to play, i will choose the forehand,said the 20 time Grandslam champion. Rafael Nadal’s forehands are one of the most feared shots on the tour, and not many have been able to keep him off from playing that shot. Novak Djokovic is one of the only players who has consistently been able to keep Nadal’s forehands at bay.

Rafael Nadal lost in the Wimbledon 2007 finals to Roger Federer in a 5-set thriller. However, the Spaniard avenged his defeat the next year in 2008, when he defeated Federer in the finals of the Wimbledon which again lasted another 5 sets. That final is dubbed by many as one of the greatest finals of all time between the two greats of tennis.

When asked about the loss he learnt the most from, the Spaniard said, ” I don’t know (laughing). it’s difficult. Maybe the final of Wimbledon in 2007 was an important one for me.” Rafael Nadal won his Wimbledon title in 2008 and won another in 2010.
