In 2017, the biggest money-making boxing match happened between McGregor and Mayweather. In those pre-match showdowns, McGregor showed his trust nature by not backing down verbally. Similarly making racial and financial statements on the latter.
Floyd Mayweather has struck back at McGregor for his racist comments during those showdowns. In the build-up to their Las Vegas showdown, Notorious used the words “monkeys” and “boy” in a way that was construed by many as being offensive.
While The Monkey was used to direct insult towards black people while boy when used in the way in which McGregor did has serious racial connotations. Historically, Caucasian Americans would use the term “boy” to belittle African Americans.
That surely dint go well with Mayweather but he surely gave him an answer in the ring.
Mayweather hits back at McGregor
Referring to the current Black Lives Matter issue, Mayweather told World Boxing News, “We all should be equal. It’s just like what people are fighting for now. Don’t judge me for the colour of my skin and I won’t judge you for the color of yours. When it’s racism amongst blacks it’s called colorist. So it’s racism amongst people right now. That’s why every day when I get up I am happy because I did it for myself and for my children. I made sacrifices.”
Mayweather has already proved that he is amongst the likes of the very best to have ever stepped in the ring. Having a record of 40-0, that is the longest undefeated win score in any sport.
