Megan Anderson will be starting as the overwhelming ‘underdog’ against arguably the greatest women’s fighter of all-time – Amanda Nunes. But, that will not deter her, as she believes she can produce an upset and come up trumps against Amanda, who hasn’t been defeated since 2014.

Speaking at the UFC 259 pre-fight press conference, the Australian revealed that she has got a gameplan to solve the long-unsolved piece in the women’s MMA jigsaw puzzle. She also spoke about how the road had been tough for her, getting to the point she is now at.

Anderson was quoted as saying, “I think everyone has holes in their game. I think you just have to find them. We’ve looked at the tape, and we’ve got a gameplan, so we’re ready to capitalize on those moments when we see them.” [via MMA Junkie]

She continued, “It’s been a long road to get here, but I’m glad that I finally got here. I grew a lot as a person, as a martial artist getting to this point. I’m just ready to put on a show. Everyone’s invincible until they’re not.” [via MMA Junkie]

Megan Anderson (11-4) is coming off a knockout victory over Norma Dumont Viana at a UFC Fight Night, February 2020. She is currently on a 2 match win streak and will be looking forward to using her vastly superior reach advantage against Amanda.

Nunes, on the other hand, has been a different gravy since her loss to Cat Zingano at UFC 178. She is on a hot streak of 11 wins, and hasn’t even remotely come close to losing, barring her fight against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 196.
