The men’s 110m hurdles added to the exciting and tight paced finals that have been taking place in athletics at Tokyo Olympics. USA’s Grant Holloway was the favourite to win the 110m hurdles as he entered into the finals with the fastest time from the semi finals. USA’s Devon Allen was another serious contender to finish on the podium. Jamaica had two finalists in the mix, as Hansle Parchment and Ronald Levy started off in lanes 7 and 5.

Parchement took the gold medal, finishing with an impressive 13.04s, a season best for him. Eventually Holloway could only manage silver, finishing with a time of 13.09s. It was another medal for Jamaica as Ronald Levy took the bronze medal with a time of 13.10s, just a whisker behind Holloway. USA’s Allen missed out on a medal finishing fourth.
Parchment became the oldest man to ever win men’s 110m hurdles at the age of 31, as he bettered his record from the Rio Olympics, where he won bronze.
