From August 4th, members of Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams bound for Tokyo Olympics will join the national camp at SAI’s National Centre of Excellence (NCEO) Bengaluru.
However, considering all the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in Bengaluru, the athletes, coaches, and support staff will undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine inside the campus.
Mandatory protocols for the camp
SAI in a statement said, “The camp will begin in keeping all the protocols and in strict adherence to the SOPs and SAI and that of the state government. Athletes, coaches, and support staff will tested when they arrive in Bengaluru to ensure that all campers are at a reduced risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus.”
All the safety measures and quarantine protocols are issues of Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Government of Karnataka, which is mandatory to follow.
Besides, Online workshops are also held for athletes, coaches, and support staff at regular intervals.
