Mia Yim got herself back on track after a win over Arianna Grace on the May 7 episode of NXT. This was her first win in over a year, as her last victory came in January of last year on an episode of Raw against Iyo Sky. She made a surprise appearance on NXT after 1350 days and expressed her desire to win the NXT Women’s North American Championship.

The 35-year-old didn’t find it easy to win against the NXT star, as Arianna Grace did put up a fight with some innovative offense. However, The Beauty Queen of NXT’s tantrums got the better of her, as the referee caught her cheating. Mia Yim picked up the advantage and secured the win by finishing her with a devastating Jaw Buster.

While speaking on NXT Exclusive, Mia Yim expressed her feelings about what it meant to win a match after over a year. Firstly, she praised her opponent, stating that she brought out the fight in her, and expressed how good it felt to be back in an NXT ring. Then, the 35-year-old star shifted her focus to winning the first-ever NXT Women’s North American title.

In the recently concluded 2024 WWE Draft, Yim, along with O.C. members Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, were drafted to SmackDown. Unfortunately, the 35-year-old star has failed to make any impact on the blue brand yet. It will be interesting to see whether she manages to become the first-ever Women’s North American Champion.

Mia Yim scolds NXT commentator Vic Joseph for taking a subtle dig at her

Mia Yim certainly won the match, but her past struggles in WWE came back to haunt her in a hilarious way. After she picked up the victory in NXT, commentator Vic Joseph played with his words and took a dig at her. Now, the 35-year-old has started to express her frustration with him on social media.

Joseph stated that Mia Yim had her day of reckoning when she came to NXT, recalling her days as a member of Retribution in 2020. She took to X and scolded him for bringing up her unsuccessful run on the main roster.

She was a part of the heel faction called Retribution, which was led by Mustafa Ali. However, the group received negative criticism from fans and was disbanded a year later. Interestingly, all the members of Retribution were released from WWE in 2021. Thankfully, she made her way back to the company in November, a year later.
