  • Sinner is on a 10-match winning streak and aims for the Sunshine Double after winning Indian Wells.

Alexander Zverev is in red-hot form at the Miami Open, and he has dropped just one set at the tournament. This is his third semi-final on tour this season, but he has never reached a final. He’s taking on the daunting task of facing Jannik Sinner in the last four of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Florida.

Sinner looks like a different player since the Indian Wells Open. Before the Sunshine Double, he had struggled with his rhythm, but he’s currently playing his best tennis on the court and in full confidence. He’s seeking to become the first man since Roger Federer in 2017 to win the Indian Wells Open and Miami Open.

Alexander Zverev vs. Jannik Sinner: Match Preview

Alexander Zverev kicked off his 2026 campaign at the United Cup, representing Germany, but he struggled with his fitness. At the Australian Open, he fought hard against Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals and then took three weeks of rest before competing in the Acapulco Open in Mexico. At the Indian Wells, he had a brilliant run, which came to an end against Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals.

Zverev continued with his form at the Miami Open, beating Martin Damm Jr. and Marin Cilic in the second and third rounds. The German star then defeated French star Quentin Halys 7-6(4), 7-6(1). He then faced Francisco Cerundolo in the semi-finals, a player who had defeated him twice previously, but he delivered a good display to win the tie 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday (March 26).

On the other hand, Jannik Sinner failed to defend his Australian Open title in January after losing to Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. He failed to rebound in Doha as he lost to Jakub Mensik in three sets in the quarter-finals. He finally got his rebound in Indian Wells, where he won the title after beating former World No.1 Daniil Medvedev in the final.

In Miami, he defeated Damir Dzumhur 6-3, 6-3 and Corentin Moutet 6-1, 6-4 in the second and third rounds. He continued with the momentum against Alex Michelsen, defeating the American star 7-5, 7-6(6). He sealed his place in the semi-finals of the Masters 1000 tournament after beating Frances Tiafoe 6-2, 6-2.

Alexander Zverev vs. Jannik Sinner: Match Prediction

Jannik Sinner is currently on a 10-match winning streak heading into the semi-finals of the Miami Open. A winning run that began in Indian Wells has now extended into Miami and needs just a few more victories to complete the Sunshine Double – winning the Miami Open and the Indian Wells Open in the same season.

The World No.1 is also on a 30-consecutive-set win in an ATP Masters tournament, dating back to his title run at the Rolex Paris Masters. The Italian is also on a six-match winning streak against semi-final opponent Alexander Zverev, and that includes his 6-2, 6-4 win at the Indian Wells just two weeks ago.

However, Zverev has been in impressive form, dropping just one set in four matches at the Miami Open, but Sinner is the only player hotter than the German star in Florida. Sinner has not dropped a set in Miami and then holds a 7-4 head-to-head record on tour. Zverev will be seeking his first win over the World No.2 in two years, while Sinner will seek to continue his run of form.

Match prediction: Jannik Sinner to win in three sets.
