Michael Chandler breaks down his fight against Charles Oliveira (frame by frame analysis)

Michael Chandler vs Charles Oliveira
The former Bellator lightweight champion competed for the UFC lightweight gold at UFC 262 against Charles Oliveira, Michael Chandler came very close to winning the belt but Oliveira showed incredible toughness and knocked him out in round number 2.
After this heartbreaking loss, Chandler promised his fans that he will come back stronger than ever, and he will win that belt within a year, now he has given his frame-by-frame analysis of the entire fight, and here’s what he’s said.
Chandler discussed the moment from the first round where he knocked Oliveira down, and almost finished the fight, he said, “This right here, is probably the hardest part of this entire fight to watch. Charles Oliveira is essentially almost out here.”
“It’s one of those deals if maybe I stopped punching, he is out, and I think I woke him back up by punching him again. But we threw the hook, chased him down. Right hand to the temple, he drops. Bang, bang, just landing shots.”
“Right there he almost looks like he’s out, goes back to pulling guard. Here’s where the age-old question of ‘Should you let him up? Should you just let him back to the feet?’ I think the right decision here could’ve been to let him up? Or the right decision here is to be in his guard and finish him with strikes like I have numerous people in the past? There’s a lot of times that people wilt under my pressure.” (h/t Bloodyelbow.com)
“Man, that’s my fault,” Michael Chandler reacted to the exact moment when he was knocked out

Chandler came out strong in round number 2 trying to push Oliveira, who he thought was still hurt, but Oliveira kept his calm and countered Chandler’s punch with a perfect left hook, and finished him with some follow-up shots.
Chandler reflected back on this moment, “Here is the agony of defeat, where it starts to settle in,” Chandler says as he describes the moment immediately after the loss. “You look around and you see the facial expressions of people.”
“Man, that’s my fault,” a disappointed Chandler said. “I should’ve come up with the jab as a defense, instead of just throwing the right hand by itself.”
