Basketball fans worldwide are constantly searching for any memorabilia related to NBA and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

Michael Jordan is not just considered to be the GOAT of basketball, but his impact has helped American sports reach the far corners of the world. That impact follows into merchandise sales, where fans want to get hold of anything that relates to him at any price.
His Airness’ game-worn shoes, jerseys, etc., fetch thousands of dollars. Some extremely rare items, such as his rookie jersey or the first Jordan sneakers, go for millions. Collectors find it sensible to spend that much money on those items as they know they will make a pretty profit when they let go of them in the future.
Those are the reasons why Jordan and his team track all his memorabilia. If he comes across something that is not in his collection, he tries to get his hands on it. Some are beyond his control, or it might not interest him.
Such as his black Ferrari Testarossa, which he sold off down the line. But fans are fanatic enough to go hunting for such lost treasures, and one of those fans tracked down that car after searching for it for over 15 years.
Then there are items that are not directly owned or touched by him. Such as a bust, which did not end up fetching the amount the owner felt it was worth. However, recently, an item went up for auction that ended up costing its new owner a pretty penny.

A Flamin’ Hot Cheeto in the shape of Michael Jordan‘s iconic Jumpman was on auction back in March. It ended up selling for $8,113, including buyer’s premium. This sale continues to validate that fans of the Chicago Bulls legend spend money on anything that even resembles him.
Fans in disbelief after Michael Jordan-shaped Cheeto goes for $8000
When basketball fans learnt of this bizarre sale, they wondered what goes through a fanatic’s mind to spend $8000 on a Hot Cheeto that is just shaped in Michael Jordan’s form. It has no official affiliation to the Bulls great, nor does it have any autograph or recognition from His Airness himself.
Fans believe such spending is thoughtless and goes on to add to the notion that people go to great lengths to feel like they have won something. Fans took to social media to react confusedly towards these clips, examples of those are below.

Had it been official merchandise, spending that much makes sense, as many Jordan memorabilia items are worth that much money. Such as an unused ticket to his rookie game that fetched hundreds of thousands of dollars. But to fans, this Hot Cheeto had no practical value, as, unlike that unused ticket, this one was not official and hence was not as valuable.
3-time NBA champion places LeBron James after Michael Jordan
Some of the fans in those comments believed a LeBron James-shaped cheeto would fetch more than the Michael Jordan one. But that could be due to the ongoing GOAT war between the two legends. Even though some might not appreciate the Los Angeles Lakers’ star’s greatness, those who played the game believe he is.

My GOAT is MJ. I think Bron has had the greatest career of all time. Imma go 1 and 2, MJ, then Bron. It’s tough to put Kobe 3, because I think as a young kid, I always liked Mike so much, I thought Kobe was just the Imitation of Mike. I think he is probably the most skilled out of those three.

Danny Green thinks LeBron James is not the greatest of all time when compared to Jordan. But when it came to his career, it is second to none. That is why he has him ranked 2nd behind the 6-time champion. Even though he played alongside James, Green’s GOAT is still Jordan.
