There are certain sporting greats who end up inspiring millions of fans. NBA legend Michael Jordan is one, whose exploits on the court have redefined what it means to be a superstar. Many young fans of those times have tried to imbibe the Chicago Bulls legend’s mannerisms and approach to the game to end up becoming stars of their own right.
MLB star Jazz Chisholm Jr. happens to be one such star who was inspired by the Chicago Bulls great. The 26-year-old has used that inspiration to catapult himself first from the minor leagues to the major league. Then after some impressive performances, he landed himself with the New York Yankees.
Now he is playing in the MLB World Series, a chance that only a few get in their lifetime as a baseball player. The star was discussing his rise with World Series opponent Mookie Betts on the podcast On Base. When asked about signing with the Jordan brand, Chisholm Jr. brought up an interesting story.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. ended up signing a deal with the Jordan brand years later. This means he is now in a position to give his autograph to the basketball legend. But his efforts to do that will be better if he can star in the World Series and help the New York Yankees win.
Michael Jordan’s love for baseball
Michael Jordan has deep interests in other forms of sports other than basketball. He often takes to playing golf and even gambles while competing with friends or other celebrities. His competition streak is such that he often brings his trash talk to the golf course. Other than golf, he has a NASCAR Cup Series team which he is very passionate about.
But prior to all this, there was a time when the legend had an interest in baseball. His father’s death in 1993 pushed him to make a decision that would shock the sporting world. Jordan retired and declared he wanted to play baseball, because of his late father’s love for the sport.
Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf signed him to his Chicago White Sox minor league team. He played for the Birmingham Barons for the 1994 season. But in 1995, he decided to return to basketball and continue his Hall of Fame career.
Jordan met a young Jazz Chisholm Jr. during one such baseball exhibition game in the Bahamas. Who knew at the time that his words would inspire the young fan to end up signing with his own brand, years later?
