When young players such as Luka Doncic, Bam Adebayo and others were growing up, Michael Jordan was one of the players they would watch. The 6-time champion was without a doubt the best player in the world, and his play drew millions of fans to the NBA.

His Airness, through his $7 Billion Jordan Brand has become Nike’s largest subsidiary. All of that could be attributed to the Chicago Bulls legend’s charisma and GOAT status in the NBA. There is a reason why great athletes from other forms of sports show respect when they meet him.

To help sustain this growth, the brand has been signing elite prospects whenever they enter the NBA. Doncic and Adebayo are two examples of players who were picked to represent the Jordan Brand. Now, they were also invited to a special party.

The 5-time league MVP invited his Jordan Brand athletes to Kavouri, Greece, where they would dine and enjoy themselves. Clips from the exclusive event, titled Board of Greatness, reveal that Doncic and Adebayo were front row and center in the celebrations.

They all wore white, consistent with the theme of the party. Former NBA star Quentin Richardson shared clips where he, Luka Doncic and Bam Adebayo, spent time with Michael Jordan. A reported 100 people attended the event to celebrate 40 years of Jordan Brand.

Michael Jordan gifts brand partners exclusive shoe

Michael Jordan’s shoes have become both a sought-after collectible and a necessity among sneaker-heads. There are some athletes who are believed to be in possession of Jordan’s valued into the millions.

However, there are some shoes that are exclusive to certain players. Player Exclusive’s apart, Jordan Brand decided to commemorate 40 years of success with an exclusive shoe. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Board of Greatness” edition is limited to 180 units.

The attendees at this particular party were already given their individual pairs marked with a serial number. Former champion Richard Hamilton shared pictures of his sneaker on IG. Pictures from his post reveal the shoe was delivered in a specially made leather bag.

Considering that this sneaker will never reach the open market, expect collectors to offer significant sums to get them into their hands. Even then, it is unlikely any Jordan brand member will be willing to let go of such an exclusive possession.

Jordan Brand working to add athletes from all backgrounds

Michael Jordan might not be working behind the scenes to help build his sneaker brand. However, he does take a keen interest in the athletes that the brand reaches out to be a part of their growing family.

The 6-time champion played a major role to sign reigning WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, and current MVP favorite, Napheesa Collier this year. It seems he recognizes that athletes want to see the involvement from the basketball great.

NFL champion quarterback, Jalen Hurts, has helped the brand take the next step in its reach among football fans. His ‘Love Hurts’ hoodies, for instance, sold out after the brand ran promotions during the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl championship parade.

Now that the brand has relaunched its original Air Jordan 1’s and are about to launch the highly anticipated Air Jordan 40s, its valuation should start to creep higher than the $7 billion it currently enjoys.

Michael Jordan has clearly impacted culture across the globe. He along with Nike’s top executives hope the athlete ambassador’s they have signed help to contribute towards consistently improving sales.
