The Players Championship on Sunday saw a huge delay due to weather conditions in Florida. With the game suspended for nearly 4 hours, PGA Tour star Michael Kim tried to keep the fans entertained on social media. While doing so, he received a hilarious advice from Phil Mickelson.
Kim was a part of the playing field in this event on Thursday. However, after shooting scores of 75 and 69 in the first two rounds, he finished with an even-par score. This saw him miss the cutline, which was set at 1-under.
With him not playing on Sunday, the 31-year-old had some free time. During this, he decided to have some fun with the fans. Kim, who is highly active on social media, would start a Q&A with the fans on X.
How about a rain delay Q&A? (Yes, even though I’m not playing) I assume some golf fans are bored right now.

Phil Mickelson, the winner of this event in 2007, decided to join in on the fun. The “Lefty” is also super active on X and engages with lot of people on different topics.
After the LIV Golf Singapore event where he came T19, the golf veteran shared hilarious advice with Kim. He urged him to drop some hot takes while being bored and then sit back and watch the reaction.

Michael Kim drops bold claim regarding LIV Golf ahead of major showdown
With the 2025 Masters Tournament on the horizon, the major season of golf is just around the corner. The first major of the year will once again see LIV Golfers and PGA Tours go head-to-head against each other. Tour pro Michael Kim though dropped a bold claim regarding their appearance.

During the Q&A, a user asked Kim whether the majors were more exciting and important now as that is the only time stars from the two tours go up against each other. The South Korean golfer would dismiss this and claim that the tour members “don’t really care about LIV“.
Not more exciting and they were already important. Players on tour don’t really care about LIV. We’re all focused on how to do our jobs better

Speaking of the 2025 Masters Tournament, Kim is yet to qualify for the event. However, with a 4th place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a T6 finish at the Cognizant Classic and a T2 finish at the WM Phoenix Open, his odds of playing in the event have increased.
At the moment, Kim is placed 52nd in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). He needs to finish inside the top 50 to qualify for the Masters Tournament as he does not have any other exemption. While, the missed cut at The Players Championship will affect this ranking, he still has a few PGA Tour events to grind out those points.
Michael Kim recently threw a shade at Jon Rahm regarding OWGR
The OWGR came up in the spotlight recently as former World No.1 Jon Rahm fell outside the top 50 rankings. Since his move to LIV Golf in December 2023, Rahm only received OWGR points from the major championships and DP World Tour events. Him falling out of the top 50 saw Michael Kim throw a playful shade at him.

Taking to his X account, the 2018 John Deere Classic winner shared a photo of the OWGR rankings. The photo showed Kim being ranked above Rahm in the standings. This led to him hilariously claiming that he was better than Rahm.

Rahm is currently ranked 2nd in the LIV Golf individual standings behind Joaquin Niemann. With a T5 finish at LIV Golf Singapore, Rahm continued his streak of never finishing outside of the top-10 since his debut in the league last year.
