When Michael Porter Jr. was a part of the Denver Nuggets, they went on a streak of winning games against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The streak reaffirmed the Nuggets’ status as one of the best teams in the league, while also becoming an embarrassment for their opponents, who could not figure out how to win against them.
After 11 such losses, the Lakers finally won a game when the Nuggets were about to hand them a 1st round playoff sweep. The inability to find a solution against what became their Kryptonite led to the dismissal of former head coach Darvin Ham.
Even after they hired first-time head coach JJ Redick, the Lakers lost their fifth straight game to the Nuggets early last season. Michael Porter Jr. was part of all those wins for the Nuggets, and revealed, while on the Glory Daze podcast, why his team always had success.
I used to love the series against the Lakers. They were very exciting. They always thought they beat us, but they never did. I always had good series against the Lakers. I don’t know what it was, but I always cook the Lakers. I think they didn’t really have a guy, a matchup for me.

From his words, it seems the 27-year-old is claiming he was the difference maker in those battles against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Even though it was a collaborative effort, Michael Porter Jr. did have skills and length that the men in purple and gold could not defend.
Michael Porter Jr. enjoyed battles against LeBron James
Most young players coming into the NBA talk about how they want to go up against LeBron James before he retires. Michael Porter Jr. has been doing that for 6 years and said this about their battles.
Those series against ‘Bron were dope. He’s the epitome of greatness in sports… When you have so much respect for somebody like I do for LeBron, and to be able to go head-to-head and come out on top, it was lit.

The Missouri alum believes those battles against the league’s all-time leading scorer made those matchups that much better, especially when they won. MPJ has that much respect for the 40-year-old, revealing it was something else to go against one of the all-time greats.
Under head coach JJ Redick, James and his teammates managed to figure out the Nuggets’ tendencies. Along with Luka Doncic, they managed to break the deadlock and win two games and lost a close one this past season.
LeBron James gets himself a Labubu
Labubu’s have become quite viral ever since some players started getting their own. They hung their Labubu’s on their belts during tunnel walks, leading to a trend amongst others.
The scary and cute dolls have started to catch up, and many athletes are trying to get hold of personalized ones. LeBron James got his one, too.
This doll is wearing a golf ball for a sling and holding a golf club in its hand. The 40-year-old shared a picture on his Instagram stories, calling it:
Call him LeBronBron Scheffler.
James wrote on IG
This special Labubu is an ode to golf star Scottie Scheffler, who amazed James and the rest of the world with his incredible chip birdie at the BMW Championship this past week.

The Akron native has taken to golf this offseason and is working his way towards improving his swing. He still swings it awkwardly, hitting the ball like with a lot of power, but without the finesse a decent golfer possesses.
Maybe more time on courses now, and after he retires, will make him take up the hobby. The ultra-competitive superstar will need one outlet to channel his drive after leaving basketball.
