Mike Tannenbaum makes a BOLD statement claiming he’ll pick Jordan Love over the likes of Joe Burrow and Josh Allen, calls him great
Tannenbaum believes, in the next five years, Love's growth will be exponential in comparison to his peers.

The Green Bay Packers struck gold with Jordan Love, which is evident following the team’s performance last season. In his first year as a starter, Love did what nobody expected him to. He slid right into Aaron Rodgers‘ shoes and led the Packers to the playoffs. Despite their loss in the Divisional Round, the quarterback showed that he is capable of being a leader.
His performance in the 2023-24 season has Mike Tannenbaum convinced that Jordan Love is bound for greatness. In his recent appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, the analyst had a surprising take with respect to the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
If allowed to draft a franchise QB from the existing options in the NFL, Tannenbaum opted to pick Patrick Mahomes with the first pick, which is not surprising because he is the best.
It was interesting to see him pick Jordan Love with the second pick, a rather surprising decision that the analyst justified.
It's easy for me, that's Jordan Love... if we were drafting NFL players, I think you (Dan Patrick) and I would agree that we'd taking Patrick Mahomes number 1, but I'm taking Jordan Love number 2...Who would you take before Jordan Love in terms of youth, ability and I think his future is limitless...he was arguably over the last half of the season, arguably the best quarterback in the NFL.Mike Tannenbaum said
Love finished the year strong with 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Tannenbaum believes in the long run, Love has more potential than any other quarterback.
Jordan Love’s debut year as the Packers starting QB was overshadowed by CJ Stroud’s impressive rookie year
Although Love put up numbers that were impressive, his first year as a starter was under-appreciated because of CJ Stroud. The rookie for the Texans put up historical numbers for a first-year QB and in the midst of this, the attention and the limelight continued to remain on him. What Love accomplished this season was impressive, but would it be fair to say that he is already better than the likes of Josh Allen and Joe Burrow?
To evaluate a player off of one successful season and use the adjective ‘great’ to describe them seems a bit premature. In order to qualify as great, consistency is expected out of a player. Jordan Love has the potential to be great but he is not there yet. Can he continue to do the same year-over-year and deliver a Super Bowl trip to the Packers? That is the question.
"If we were drafting #NFL players, I think you and I would agree that we'd take Patrick Mahomes no. 1, but I'm taking Jordan Love no. 2… Who would you take before Jordan Love in terms of youth, ability and I think his future limitless."

Burrow has proven himself as worthy of being in the ‘great’ conversation because he had a trip to the Super Bowl and has continually bested Patrick Mahomes, a feat no other QB can pride themselves on doing. Allen, although yet to make the Super Bowl, has had multiple playoff appearances and has been in the MVP conversation on a continued basis, which makes him eligible to be deemed great. This season will determine if Love is headed on that path to greatness or if his game will take a step back.
