Ahead of the fight, several prominent individuals in the boxing community have shared their insights. Most recently, Mike Tyson discussed the upcoming rematch.

“Iron” Mike Tyson recently participated in an interview on Fox Sports Radio, where he discussed several intriguing topics related to the current boxing landscape. During the interview, the hosts asked for the boxing legend’s thoughts on the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. Prior to the initial fight between Usyk and Fury, ‘Iron Mike’ predicted a victory for the British boxer. However, the match did not unfold as the boxing legend had expected. Fury lost his hard-fought twelve-round battle against the Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion by split decision. According to several prominent figures, including Tyson himself, the British boxer did not seem focused during the fight.

The relationship between Fury and Tyson is quite intriguing. Iron Mike was one of the most dominant boxers of the 1980s and had a massive fan base. Notably, Fury’s father was a huge admirer of Tyson and considered him his favorite boxer. Due to this, the British boxer was named after Mike Tyson. While Iron Mike critiqued Fury’s last boxing performance, the British boxer himself admitted to his mistakes as well.

Tyson Fury says he would do ‘less clowning’ in his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury is considered one of the top heavyweight boxers in today’s boxing landscape. Throughout his illustrious career, he has defeated numerous formidable opponents. Moreover, Fury also boasted an undefeated record until he clashed against Oleksandr Usyk. This fight was one of the most significant of Fury’s career, as the undisputed heavyweight title was on the line.

In comparison, Fury had a better career record and more experience than Usyk, leading many to believe the British boxer would defeat the Ukrainian. However, against everyone’s expectations, Usyk rocked Fury and almost knocked him out. While Usyk focused on landing strikes and scoring points, Fury appeared to be showboating in the ring—a mistake he has promised not to repeat.

I did more clowning than anybody in any high-level fight’s ever done. It’s taken my focus away as well, so maybe a little less clowning and more focus on the actual victory. I was messing around too much in there.

Fury has expressed his intention to box strategically against Usyk this time. It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds this weekend.
