A look into the professional careers of Mike Tyson and Jake Paul
Mike Tyson’s last professional win was in 2003 when he fought Clifford Etienne. His final two fights against Danny Williams in 2004 and Kevin McBride in 2005 ended in back-to-back losses. That was 19 years ago. His most recent outing in the ring was against Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition fight in 2020. Paul had fought in the undercard of this very fight where he knocked out former NBA player, Nate Robinson.
Jake Paul went through a series of MMA fighters before stepping into the ring with a professional boxer in 2023. Former UFC fighters Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz all either got knocked out or faced the decision loss against Jake Paul. After much criticism and a lot of back and forth, Jake Paul finally stepped into the ring against Tommy Fury who gave him his first career loss. This was when Paul started focusing on fighting professional boxers.
Jake Paul fought Andre August and Ryan Bourland before proceeding to step into the ring against Mike Tyson. Paul has ended six of his nine fights by KOs while Tyson had 44 professional KOs by the time he won his 50th fight. Mike Tyson will step into the ring as a 58-year-old man while Paul will be 27. That is a 31-year age gap which reportedly is the biggest in the history of professional boxing.
