NFL Week 10 was a good chance for two players to prove their worth. On one hand, was Aaron Rodgers, whose New York Jets were hitting a stride. On the other hand, former Jets and new Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Williams was about to receive passes from Russell Wilson.
In this week’s road game, the Pittsburgh Steelers knew they had a task at hand going up against the red-hot Washington Commanders. They understood that towards the end of the first half when the home side took the lead.
That lead stayed until the early part of the fourth quarter and indicated that the home team would win. That was because Russell Wilson threw an interception on the last drive of the third quarter to hand the ball back to the Commanders. His defense helped him get the ball though on the next drive.
But again, Steelers running back Jaylen Warren lost the ball with just ten yards to go. But HC Mike Tomlin has built a team that does not quit. After again forcing a punt, his offense had the ball. This time, Wilson spread the ball to gain some yards.
But seeing that the Commanders were trying to keep their lead, Wilson received the ball from the home team’s 32-yard line. Took two steps back and threw a high-arching spiral to the left side of the field. The recipient was his newest weapon, Mike Williams.

Ironically, it was a similar red-line route that brought out criticism from Aaron Rodgers. That criticism was what ultimately led him to become a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers. But it was the best way to announce his arrival as that 32-yard touchdown was his only catch of the night.
Fans ecstatic as Mike Williams finds retribution after Aaron Rodgers criticism
Football fans know Mike Williams is a big-bodied receiver whose strong point is playing physical ball. His skills come out best when contesting or using his strength to separate and catch passes. That is what he showed for the Pittsburgh Steelers on that one game-winning play.
On the other hand, all the superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers could do was go back home empty handed after another blowout loss for the New York Jets.
Football fans watching all this unfold took to social media to shower praise on the 30-year-old receiver. They witnessed his resurgence after coming under unwanted criticism from Rodgers. For Russell Wilson to aid in that, was the icing on the cake. Check out examples of those comments below.

What a clutch TD rainbow from Russell Wilson to aaron Rodgers' favorite scapegoat, Mike Williams. Unlike Aaron's late throws to Williams, this one was on the money.

Shows how bad the Jets are. They had no idea how to use Mike Williams.

Mike Williams making a game-winning touchdown grab for the Steelers and Davante Adams dropping a touchdown in the end zone feels like Aaron Rodgers getting what he deserved.

The New York Jets are in shambles after another embarrassing loss. But for Mike Williams, his career has seen a revival as the Steelers look set to reach the playoffs. If Wilson can continue this level of play, expect the franchise to upset a few.
