Arsenal defeated Leeds United comprehensively in the Premier League on Sunday night as they romped on to a 4-2 win. This win takes Arsenal above Leeds United in the Premier League points table.

Pierre Emrick Aubameyang made a glorious comeback to the side with a hat-trick to keep things going. Hector Bellerin scored a rare goal in an Arsenal shirt.

Arsenal opened the scoring through Pierre Emrick Aubameyang as his shot fizzled past Leeds United Goalkeeper Meslier. The second goal was a mistake from Meslier who tried to play out from the back and ended up conceding a penalty.

Aubameyang stepped up to take the penalty and scored his second goal for the night. Hector Bellerin scored the third and final goal of the First half as he buried a shot from a tight angle. Some lovely interchange of passes and Bellerin could get into a good position.

Emile Smith Rowe once again showed promise and delivered a lovely cross which Aubameyang turned in for his third of the night. Leeds did get back two goals in quick succession but the deficit was too big to overturn in the end.

“I thought it was much better. We were much more efficient and we were much more composed. We took our time when it was needed, we faked movement, we had runs in behind and we had people in the box and people arriving into the box. Our decision-making was much better and then the efficiency when we were hitting the last shot. Many of those were on target and that’s the difference when you want to score goals.”

“It was a great first half, to play the way we’ve done against this opponent. How difficult they make it, how organised they are, I think it was superb. At half time I told them that Leeds are a team who can bounce back and they’re not going to stop.”
