The undefeated middleweight Khamzat Chimaev is eager to get his hands on UFC gold. In order to achieve that, the Chechen fighter will have to go against the champion, Dricus Du Plessis. As the rivalry shape up, both fighters have already started throwing sneaky jibes at each other on social media.
Khamzat Chimaev has remained pretty active on social media lately. The fighter is doing his best to get under Du Plessis’s skin by randomly posting and tagging him. In a latest post, Chimaev shared an image of him looking at the camera in a calm yet menacing way.
Fans connected it to Chimaev’s old and evil look, but it didn’t bother the South African at all. DDP is famous for mental warfare and made sure to hit back at Chimaev with a hilarious meme. Du Plessis has always been creative when it comes to witty comebacks. In the past, he has successfully broken down top fighters such as Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland with his relentless trolling.

Khamzat Chimaev, on the other hand, doesn’t possess the skill given his lack of grip on the English language. However, that will not stop him inside the octagon, but DDP is ready for that challenge. The middleweight champion is also confident to move up and fight Alex Pereira for the double champion status.
Can Dricus Du Plessis get his second UFC belt?
In his last outing at UFC 312 in Sydney, Dricus Du Plessis successfully defended his middleweight belt against Sean Strickland. It was his back-to-back dominating performance since his previous beatdown of former champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. Irrespective of his awkward fighting style, the fighter always finds a way to get a win.

After his latest win, Du Plessis made sure to take the opportunity to call out Alex Pereira, who was in the corner of Strickland. The middleweight champ believes that he has the potential and skillset to beat the Brazilian and become a double champion. In a recent podcast, UFC veteran Henry Cejudo shared his opinion on the matter.
He’s just too small. I don’t believe that. You could be big all you want, if size mattered, Kamaru, the giraffe would be the king of the jungle. I give DDP more of a chance than I would give Ilia to become champ-champ.

Pereira also has a bone to pick with Du Plessis and was once talked about coming back to the 185 lbs division. However, it seems like if this fight happens, the light heavyweight title will be on the line. According to many fans, with his wrestling pedigree, DDP does have a strong chance against Pereira.
