Minecraft has a ton of floral and fauna that the players can find as they are exploring and use them for a variety of purposes. Here is Minecraft Kelp and all its features in the game.
Vegetation is Minecraft is varied and differs from the biome to biome as the players explore more. Some of the plants only appear in certain biomes and they have various uses that differ from other. Apart from normal trees there are short plants like bushes, flowers and weeds that grow on hills, plains and even underwater.

Minecraft Kelp
Minecraft Kelp are a variant of underwater plants that are most commonly found growing in large patches under oceans.

Locations and how to find
They are found naturally generating in any of the ocean biomes except the frozen ones and the warm ocean biomes. They start from the base of the ocean and climb upwards towards the surface of the water.
They can also be found from trading with Wandering Traders and bought for 3 emeralds. This is not worth it and players should simply travel to a nearby ocean to obtain it.
Uses
Minecraft Kelp has a variety of uses and some of them are listed down below:
- Players can make a flowing water block a water source block by placing a Kelp on it.
- Blocks can be placed on top of a Kelp so that players do not need a base block in the middle of the ocean.
- They can be used as Furnace fuel but they need to be turned into blocks of dried kelp first.
- Players can use it in a Composter to raise the level by 1.
- Dried Kelp can be used as food.
- To farm Kelp, players need to set them on a base block underwater and they grow upwards.
