Minecraft has a ton of naturally generated structures but the underwater structures are scarce in the game. One of them is the Minecraft Ocean Ruins and we take a look at all we need to know about them.
Naturally generated structures are one of the most interesting aspects of the game. These gives the game a exploration aspect and players love to go on adventure to find treasure or even battle the monsters out there. Underwater structures are very few and apart from the Ocean Monuments and Shipwrecks, the only other structures are Ocean Ruins.

Minecraft Ocean Ruins
The Ocean Ruins are a naturally generated underwater structures that spawns in the ocean biomes and are made of stone and sand. They also have a chance to contain great loot for the players to find.

Variants
The Minecraft Ocean Ruins are divided into two variants:
- Cold Ocean Ruins
- Warm Ocean Ruins
Cold Ocean Ruins spawn in cold, or frozen ocean biomes and are made up of stone or stone-like materials.
Warm Ocean Ruins spawn in warm, lukewarm and deep lukewarm ocean biomes and are made up of sandstone and stone.
They can also spawn as small single-hut ruins or a large ocean ruins with two or three structures. the smaller ruins have a lesser chance of having the drowned or any loot. The large ocean ruins also have a chance of spawning smaller ocean ruins around it.
Structures
The shape and size of a Ocean Ruins varies greatly and can spawn in single ruins or a complete cluster of ruins. The ruins may contain stone like structures like Gravel, Chiseled Stone Bricks or prismarine in cold ocean ruins. Likewise, the warm ocean ruins consists of mainly sandstone or sand blocks with wood and even magma blocks near it.
Each of the Ruins has a chance to contain a chest with a variety of rewards which may be in rooms, or may be underground under some sand or grave blocks.
Like wise, the ruins are also guarded by the Drowned Mob and the number of mobs depend upon the size of the ruins.

- Enchanted Books
- Buried Treasure Maps
- Gold Nuggets and Helmets
